Outside Rein provides Equine-Assisted Mental Health and Learning (EAMHL) - Equine Therapy and traditional counseling therapy services in Teller County, Colorado, for children, adolescents, and adults during individual, couples, families, or group sessions. Equine-Assisted Mental Health and Learning activities vary from client to client in order to meet individual client needs. Our sessions consist of groundwork. We conduct some mounted work dependent on client need. Outside Rein provides referrals to excellent local resources for riding lessons. Veteran owned and operated.
Therapist
Monique Ekker is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), and a Certified Equine Interaction Profession – Mental Health (CEIP-MH). Monique is exceptionally trained to integrate horses in the therapeutic connection to provide equine-assisted learning and/or therapy sessions. Monique is a trauma informed therapist and utilizes other experiential modalities with a focus in Interpersonal Neurobiology. Monique specializes in ADHD, childhood and adult, and is an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider. In addition, Monique is specialty trained in substance use treatment, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Equine-Assisted EMDR (EA-EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and Mindfulness techniques to provide counseling therapy services.
